You’ll find that there’s nothing like a simple, filling and healthy tuna poke in your repertoire.
The key is to use a good quality tuna that is marinated in a tomato sauce and is then cooked on a grill to make the fish more tender.
This recipe uses a combination of the two and you will need to make sure you use a big enough tuna to reach the correct size.
What you need To start, start with some good quality salmon, such as a bluefin, or a king salmon, which are popular in the US.
To do this, cut up your fish into pieces and place them in a shallow dish with a tablespoon of olive oil and a pinch of salt.
Rub the salmon with a little olive oil then rub the pieces of salmon with some of the olive oil.
Add the salmon to the pan with some salt, garlic and ginger.
Cook over a low heat for about 30 seconds.
Remove the fish from the pan, set aside and allow to cool down.
Once the salmon is cooked, add it to the tuna, and then cook until the tuna is soft.
Then add in some fresh basil leaves and cook for a further 15 seconds.
Taste the fish and adjust the seasoning if needed.
To make the sauce, add a tablespoon or so of olive or coconut oil and some chopped fresh basil.
When it’s a bit more creamy, add some more olive oil to the mix and whisk in some freshly grated Parmesan cheese and some fresh cracked pepper.
If you’re using the fish as the sauce base, add more chopped fresh tomatoes, some finely chopped scallions, and some red wine vinegar.
Serve with some fresh rice or pasta and a good dollop of tuna.
To prepare tuna fish, first, drain and rinse the fish in cold water.
Next, add the tuna to a pan of boiling salted water and add the cooked salmon.
Allow the tuna fish to cook for around 10-15 minutes, until the fish is cooked through.
Add in some salt and pepper, then cook for another 5-10 minutes, or until the salt has completely dissolved.
Next add in the remaining ingredients, such an olive oil, fresh basil, parsley and garlic.
Turn the heat down to medium-low and allow the fish to marinate for 15 minutes.
While the fish marinates, add in a few tablespoons of olive juice and allow it to sit in the pan for a few minutes.
Next turn the heat back up to medium and let the fish cook for about 10 minutes, before adding in the tomatoes, scallons, red wine and some freshly chopped basil.
Taste and adjust if needed, then serve the tuna with some freshly cooked pasta and some extra Parmesan.
To serve, top with some finely grated parmesan and a dollop or two of tuna poke, then enjoy!
